Cheryl Cole put on a "brave smile" during her first TV interview since announcing her separation from husband Ashley, according to a report. The X Factor judge kept her composure during a spot on Danish TV.
The 26-year-old flew to Copenhagen to film a promotion for her solo album `3 Words' but showed no signs of the strain of her marriage woes.
Danish TV insiders told a tabloid newspaper that they believed that Cheryl was "hiding" her true feelings during the interview.
The source told the Daily Star: "She's determined not to show how cut up she is.
"In her room or the car she might be a sad and confused figure, but she's able to transform herself for the public. She wants people to think she's not hurting.
"It's a real juggling act. One minute Cheryl looks frail, hunched with her head down and a security guard's arm round her.
"The next it's sunglasses off, hat and coat off and a confident smile."
The source claimed that Cheryl used her maiden name to book the flights and hotel for her trip to the Danish capital.
They added: "She doesn't want to be seen to be forgiving Ashley for cheating on her at the moment.
"Her wedding ring remains off, she's flown under her maiden name Tweedy, and she also avoided her married name when she checked into her hotel in Copenhagen.
"But privately she's wondering whether counselling would have any chance of bringing them closer and stopping Ashley's straying. For a 26-year-old she's being a real trouper.
"She knows full well that going to airports, hotels and TV studios puts her right in the media and public eye all the time, but she's decided she's got to do it."
