No beef: Leona has got Simon to ditch the meat.

X Factor winner Leona Lewis has help to convert Simon Cowell to vegetarianism, according to a report. The Bleeding Love singer has convinced the entertainment mogul to give up eating meat-based products.

Cowell has agreed to give up eating animal products one day a week to support Sir Paul McCartney's Meat Free Mondays campaign.

Leona told The Sun: "Anything I ask Simon to get involved in regarding my charity and environmental concerns he always does.

"He's cool like that."

Lewis recently banned meat products from her forthcoming UK tour, saying:"The meat industry is polluting the environment."

Leona hit the headlines earlier this week when she revealed that she would pose in the nude to support the anti-cruelty charity PETA.

The singer said she would go naked to criticise fashion designers who use fur.

She told the Daily Mirror: "I would love to do a campaign for them in the future.

"I'd definitely look to do something if it was done tastefully and for the plight of animals everywhere around the world."

Giving up meat-based products ONE day a week does NOT make Simon a vegetarian! I don't eat meat every day, I LOVE veggies - usually smothered in cheese sauce - does that make ME a vegetarian? Don't think so!
