The Big Brother 2010 Glasgow auditions went with a bang on Saturday, January 30, with loads of eager wannabe housemates queuing up to have a shot at being on the last ever series.
One of the most eye-catching auditionees was Stuart from the Borders, who was dressed up in a fetching vest, nappy and roller skates combo, inspired by the Evian advert.
The 29-year-old, who runs roller skating classes for kids, said he’d be an outgoing and wacky housemate: “I'm wacky, you name it any occasion where we can dress up and have a laugh, just go flat out and make other people laugh.
“I’ll be doing games the whole way through, having a laugh and making people laugh. I will be joking around and falling about, proper entertainment when people tune in 24/7," the Scot added.
Another prospective housemate, Arlie, turned up in an interesting looking dress, made from empty crisp packets, in a tribute to her favourite snack.
One of the auditionees who might just cause a stir if she makes it into the house is 24-year-old Jo who said she’d have no problem singing songs for all the housemates before bursting into a rendition of There's Your Trouble by Dixie Chicks.
Also in the audition queue were a trio of Aberdonians who think they’ve got what it takes to be “part of the legacy” as the final series kicks off in the summer. Stacey, Fergus and Gary feel that Aberdeen has been neglected and want it to gain the recognition it deserves.
“There’s only been one Aberdeen person on Big Brother and she was a disgrace. So we just want to show that Aberdeen people are ordinary like us,” Gary said.
In keeping with the bizarre tone of the auditions, was Amanda who might raise a few eyebrows if she reveals her career, as a professional dominatrix, to her fellow housemates.
“I live with four slaves and I want something different. I am waited on hand and foot and want to try something more independent."
BB9 housemate Mikey Hughes, who had popped along to the give the crowd some tips, said that anyone who fancied going on the show had to move quickly because this is their last chance.
“That’s it, that’s it all over and you feel sorry for people because this is the last chance and if you don’t get in today, there is no more Big Brother.” Mikey said.
And Freddie Fisher, from BB10, said he thinks the show has lasting appeal, despite the fact it is finishing this summer.
Check out stv.tv's chat with former housemate Mikey Hughes, during which he told us he'd love to see another blind person go into the house and that going on Big Brother opens doors for contestants.
The London auditions will take place in Wembley Arena on Saturday February 6 and Sunday February 7. Entrants must be at least 18 by May 2010. Find out more by going to www.channel4/bigbrother.
