Hannah Waterman became "obsessed" with making her fitness DVD.
The actresses' ex-husband Ricky Groves believes the former 'EastEnders' star ended their four-year marriage because she became so obsessed with ditching the pounds for her fitness DVD.
Speaking about the breakdown of his marriage, which Hannah broke off on New Year's Eve, he said: "When she started the DVD she just became obsessed. I knew she was being pushed harder and constantly being told that the more weight she lost, the better her life was going to be. She got completely carried away.
"Suddenly scales appeared in the kitchen, in the bathroom, in the downstairs loo. The small amount of time we did have together got eaten up by DVD meetings and all the time the weight kept dropping off."
Ricky believes that Hannah - who went from a size 16 to a 6 and lost 42lbs during the making of her DVD - thought she would be better off without him in her life anymore.
He said: "Ten years of being together... gone. And the hardest thing is I still love every bit of that girl."
Meanwhile 'Loose Women' presenter Coleen Nolan - who herself has made three fitness DVDs - has blasted Hannah's disc as "unrealistic".
She said: "The new Hannah Waterman DVD is all about her getting down to a size 6 but I think that's so unhealthy and unrealistic, you need such a strict regime to stay at that weight.
"In a way losing the weight is easy - once you get in the mindset of losing weight, when you see the pounds coming off it's an incentive to carry on.
"The problem is it's never over, you can't go back to your old bad habits."
