X Factor star Diana Vickers has announced that she is to release her debut single in April 2010.

The 18-year-old, who finished fourth in the 2008 series of The X Factor, is scheduled to release the track `Once' on April 19.

A statement from concert promoters SJM has described the track as a "quirky, synth-based single."

The song was co-written by Cathy Dennis, the songwriter behind Kylie Minogue's 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head'.

The track also features the line "I'm only going to let you kill me once."

Diana recently posted details of her first ever UK tour on her official website.

The singer will perform six dates at venues across Britain in March.
