Coronation Street legend Betty Williams is to be involved in a food poisoning plot featuring her trademark hotpots, says a report.
Sources have claimed that Betty will fear that she will become a killer, when an elderly Weatherfield resident is poisoned by her signature dish.
The "food poisoning" plot will see the 91 year-old being given a Lancashire hotpot which has been in the Rover's freezer for over two months, says The Sun.
The unlucky "victim", Enid Crump, also happens to be Betty's rival for the disputed title of Manchester's Oldest Barmaid.
Steve McDonald serves up the dodgy hotpot by mistake, only to discover later that Enid is "at death's door" after falling ill with food poisoning.
Williams, played by Betty Driver tells Steve: "It's murder. I'll have killed her. I'm too old to go to prison. I'll never come out alive."
But he tells Betty: "I'm sure it'll be fine. You can't murder someone with a hotpot. The police will understand it was an accident.
"And look on the bright side, if Enid dies, you can then officially call yourself the undisputed Oldest Barmaid in Town."
