Ricky Whittle has been urged not to be "complacent" and to "focus" by Alesha Dixon and Arlene Phillips.

'Strictly Come Dancing' judge Alesha warned the show favourite not to let his work rate drop in the show's final weeks.

She said: "He is brilliant. He is one of the show's best male celebrities ever. But he mustn't get complacent - he's got to keep on his toes, keep fighting, keep working hard. Nothing is ever in the bag until you are the winner. "

'Hollyoaks' actor Ricky, 28, suffered a knock back last week however, as following his arrest in the early hours of Friday morning (27.11.09) on suspicion of assault, he missed practice.

He then landed in the show's bottom two acts after a poor performance of a rock n roll routine on Saturday (28.11.09).

Ricky was saved by the judges, who voted off ex-'EastEnders' actress Natalie Cassidy, but former show panelist Arlene said he has to be careful the pressure doesn't get the better of him.

She said: "Everyone has issues going on, but you must put your troubles aside.

"It was vital training that Ricky missed. There was a slight look of worry on his face in that dance. It wasn't the crowd pleaser it could have been.

"An extra day's rehearsal would have definitely given him the gloss that was lacking."

Ricky was released on bail after the incident on Friday - in which he is alleged to have injured a paparazzi photographer with his car - and no charges have yet been brought against him.
