John and Edward make Irish TV debut

X Factor John and Edward have appeared on the Late Late Toy Show. The programme is an annual influential Irish institution.

The show is an edition of the world's longest-running chat shows - The Late Late Show which is broadcast on RTE.

It is broadcast in late November or early December and is the most watched programme of the year on Irish television.

Jedward made their first Irish TV debut with Ryan Tubridy as he hosted his first Toy Show.

The boys told The Irish Examiner: "We are so excited to be on the Toy Show.

"We watched it every year. Christmas wasn't Christmas without the Toy Show, so this is a real highlight for us tonight."

When Turbridy asked how they coped with critics who said they were not musical, John said: "That didn't really bother us.

"We just went out there and sang for our fans."

The twins were watched by over one million viewers and were mobbed by thousands of girls at the studio.

Tubridy said: "We have been going through such hard times and Jedward distracted us and they did so really well.

"They're wonderfully ridiculous and they know that."
