Former Corrie star Suranne Jones has ruled out a possible return to the cobbled streets for the show's 50th anniversary. The 30-year-old played Karen McDonald between 2000 and 2004.
It had been reported that Jones was interested in returning to her Weatherfield role for the drama's golden anniversary.
She subsequently said a return would be `unlikely' and has now ruled it out completely.
She told the Lancaster and Morecambe Citizen: "I wouldn't go back to Corrie. I think you should move on.
"I'm even reluctant to say 'never say never' because I definitely don't want to."
She added: "I love Coronation Street and the people but I don't miss it.
"I like the variety I can do now. I am a bit greedy like that."
Other former Weatherfield residents rumoured to be making a return include Kevin Kennedy (Curly Watts) and Angela Griffin (Fiona Middleton).
