X Factor hopeful Danyl Johnson has insisted that he has recaptured his "mojo" after recent knocks shattered his confidence. The 27-year-old from Reading told reporters that he faced a struggle to win over the support of the public.
Danyl told Now! magazine that stories had been written in the tabloid press linking him with some of his fellow X Factor contestants.
Johnson admitted that he has had relationships with men and women but laughed-off reports that he was dating someone in the shared X Factor house.
He said: "No-one can control that sort of thing.
"You know, we get into this industry and loads of things are written about us that aren't true and that we laugh about it."
He joked: "I think I'm dating Lucie, Joe and Afro all at the same time!"
Danyl recently hit the headlines when his mother spoke out to criticise his mentor Simon Cowell.
Maria Burgess has said that Danyl thinks that Cowell is focusing his attention on Olly Murs.
She told the Sunday Mirror: "Danyl's very upset and frustrated at the way he is being treated.
"He feels he's not being given a fair chance and that Olly keeps getting more up-tempo songs.
"And he's not getting all the bells and whistles. He's lucky if he gets a perspex box to stand on when he's performing, while the others have much bigger productions."
