Fellow celebs gave their judgements on Katie Price as she became the hot topic round the camp fire on tonight’s show [Monday} after they sussed out that she’d be joining them in the jungle.
A message from the show’s producers read out by Sam Fox informed unsuspecting campmates that they would be joined by a 12th member and teased that all the gifts “came at a price.”
Commenting on Katie, Scottish interior designer, Justin said: “I’m really interested to find out what is the person in front of the packaging.
Is she the woman that we think she is, this cold hard manipulative female who’s just charging ahead grabbing every opportunity or is she a really lovely woman?
What I’m hoping is that I’m man enough to embrace Katie Price into the bosom of our fabulous jungular community.” He also explained to a bemused looking George Hamilton that Katie was like a “heat-seeking missile in sling-backs.”
Justin’s partner, Colin McAllister, was bemused as to why somebody would do the show twice.
“It’s kind of odd,“ he told the Bushtucker Telegraph.. “Why would someone want to come back? I’d say to Dorothy if she wanted to go back to Oz,: ‘Maybe it’s a backward step. Maybe there are other things you should be doing.’”
Celebrity chef, Gino D’Acampo, declared that he’d be more excited if it was Peter Andre - who he's worked with - who was joining them, while Hollyoaks star Stuart Manning, who was warned off sleeping with Katie by Kim, admitted: “I think I’ve met her once but I think I was quite drunk at the time, so I don’t really remember.”
Even cheeky host Ant McParland got in on the act by sporting a TEAM ANDRE T-shirt.
However Katie received some backing from ex-Page 3 girl, Sam Fox, who said: “I’ve met her a couple of times. She’s a pleasant girl you know. I take people as I find them.''
Katie had to take part in a task to win treats for her new campmates before being allowed to join them. She had to undergo a challenge entitled “Swamped” which involved her facing up to her fear of water as she set out to win treats for the celebs. Trouble was, having won them treats she then had to take the one permitted luxury item off each of her new campmates, in exchange - from Justin's hair product to Lucy's photograph of her family.
