X Factor contestant Danyl Johnson has confessed that he came down with a crash after he ended in the bottom two during Big Band week.
The former favourite has said that he is trying to ignore the negative press that has surrounded him.
He told Now magazine: "I don't read the papers because good and bad stuff can go to your head or get you down.
"You can't get away from it because people will let you know about different things, but I just try to keep focused and keep my mind on the game in hand."
Danyl added that he was feeling the pressure caused by Simon saying he was "the best first audition "he had ever heard.
Danyl said: "You think: `Great, now I'm gonna be rubbish.' I totally suffered from that because it was like, `what else do I do?' and there was really only one place I could go from there.
"But Simon's on our side. I speak to him all the time."
Meanwhile, the negative press continued after an ex-bandmate of Danyl's labelled the singer a "cry baby".
Tim Bland, who was in the boyband 2Tone with the finalist, told The Sun: "He'd run from rehearsals crying if we said something he didn't like."
