Dancing on Ice 2010 line up rumours

Although it's still a couple of months away, there are already some pretty solid rumours about who’ll be taking part in Dancing on Ice 2010.  So which celebrities look like they will be donning their skates in January next year?  And who will be the new Ray Quinn?  Or Todd Carty, for that matter.

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has already told the press that wife Tana Ramsay will be taking part.  This seems to be reasonable confirmation, but will the 36-year-old teacher turned presenter and cookery writer be able to cope with the Dancing on Ice judges?  Well, she’s been married to Gordon for 13 years, so she has determination, that’s for sure.

Rumours have been rife for a while now that ex-wife of Beatle Paul McCartney, Heather Mills will be appearing.  The 41-year-old has already competed in Dancing with the Stars (the US version of Strictly Come Dancing) and was spotted this week on the ice along with Jayne Torvill, Tana Ramsay, EastEnder Daniella Westbrook (who leaves Albert Square in December), and ‘80s pop star Sinitta.

Former England goalkeeper Peter Shilton’s name has also been mentioned.  Can the 60-year-old keep up the goalie tradition set by David Seaman who came fourth in 2006?  Or will he be voted out first like footie pundit Graeme Le Saux was last year?  Peter was between the sticks for England for a massive 20 years - now, there’s sticking power and a competitive nature.

Soap boys look like they will be represented in full with 23-year-old Kieron Richardson (Hollyoaks’ bad boy Ste Hay) who’s no doubt hoping to live up to Chris Fountain’s impressive record, 27-year-old Gary Lucy (ex-Footballers’ Wives, Hollyoaks and The Bill), 23-year-old Danny Young (Coronation Street’s Warren Baldwin), David Spinx (Keith Miller from EastEnders), Jeremy Sheffield (Holby City) and Bobby Davro (most recently seen as Vinnie in EastEnders).

Other girls rumoured to be taking part include former Corrie star Tracey Shaw, ex-Eternal singer and Celebrity Love Island contestant Kelle Bryan, ex-Olympic swimmer and sports presenter Sharon Davies, Footballers’ Wives actress Susie Amy and The Inbetweeners actress Emily Atack.

Judges Robin Cousins, Karen Barber, Jason Gardiner and Nicky Slater will be returning to the show for the new series.  Ruthie Henshall won’t be back but favourites to replace her are former Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips or Dancing on Ice series 3 champion Suzanne Shaw.

The new series will be presented by once again Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.  And the real stars of the show - Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean - will be mentoring the celebrities each week and performing their own spectacular routines.

The Dancing on Ice producers are known to train up more celebrities than are needed to allow replacements - as was the case with Zaraah Abrahams who took over from the injured Michael Underwood in series three. ITV aren’t currently confirming or denying any of the rumours but the official line up will be announced before the series kicks off in early January next year.
