X Factor's Danyl Johnson is attracting the big money bets, according to reports. Bookies are reportedly worried that a £5million gamble has been launched on the contestant to win the show.
A syndicate is rumoured to have placed "hundreds of thousands of pounds" on the teacher to win this year's X Factor crown.
The odds on Johnson are lengthening as fans continue to vote for John and Edward.
A source told the Daily Star: "In terms of the numbers of bets, it's the twins.
"But the clever money - and the big money - is going on Danyl."
They added: "The professionals have placed some huge bets - five figures in places."
Paddy Power spokesman Darren Haines said: "All our biggest bets have been on Danyl, many thousands of pounds in several cases.
"While all the talk is about the twins, the experts, the people who make money out of these markets, believe it's Danyl.
"It could cost the industry a fortune if they prove to be right."
Sources have been quoted as saying the potential payout would likely be between £2million and £5million and is set to rise.
On Betfair, £400,000 has been wagered on Danyl winning, more than on any other contestant.
The big money bets began as it was revealed that Danyl was back in first position in the public vote after Rock Week.
The bookies source added: "Our fingers are crossed that Danyl trips up. Even if he makes the final it will be terrible news."
