After an abuse of trust, traumatic events leave a family shattered, but things reach a dramatic conclusion in the final episode of STV two-part drama Damage.

The repercussions of last episode’s rape rocks the apparently strong foundations of the Cahill family in the latest harrowing episode.

It leads Emma to pluck up the courage to face her assailant in court - so she can rebuild her life and move on.

The Dublin-based thriller stars Brendan Coyle, Olivia Williams and Natalie Press, and has been praised for its excellent cast.

It also features Scottish actor David O'Hara as the mother's lover - and Emma's attacker. O’Hara has starred in Hollywood blockbusters including The Departed and Wanted.

He is also now filming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I, where he’s set to feature in the magical series as Albert Runcorn.

  • Damage concludes on STV this Thursday at 9pm
