X Factor champion Alexandra Burke is backing Rachel Adedeji to win this year's contest, says a report. Alex told a Sunday newspaper that she believes that the young singer can go on to be a global superstar.
She told the News of the World: "She can be the British Rihanna."
Burke first met Rachel when they auditioned for The X Factor in 2008. At the time Adedeji, who Alex calls Rae Rae, was eliminated at the boot camp stage of the contest.
But this year Rachel is one of the favourites to make it through to the final 12 hopefuls.
Alexandra said: "Rachel is amazing, I think she's incredible.
"I'm backing her to win. I've kept in touch with her and I love her to bits. I'm rooting for Rae Rae!"
The X Factor winner also backed Duane Lamonte to get through to the live finals.
She added: "I think he'll go far. He's very talented.
"Duane and Rachel are the ones who stand out for me. Those two and some of the over 25s - there is some really strong talent this year."
