X Factor champion Joe McElderry is rumoured to be planning a surprise gig to thank his supporters.
The 18-year-old wrote on his Twitter page that he was in discussions about performing a special gig in his home town of South Shields.
McElderry tweeted: "Wow! Just heard I might be doing a surprise appearance in my hometown. Can't wait to go back home!"
Meanwhile, Joe has also said that he has still not come to terms with winning the talent show on Sunday night.
The Geordie lad told the Daily Mirror that he was finding it hard to believe that he had won the talent show.
He explained: "I'm still in total shock. I can't believe it's all going on.
"It's like when I see the bit where I was told that I won, they kept playing that on TV this morning, I just kept thinking that can't be real."
He added: "It's just mad."
