X Factor star Danyl Johnson has revealed that his first audition for the show was "spontaneous". The 27-year-old performed `With A Little Help From My Friends' which Simon Cowell described as the "best first audition" he had ever seen.
The teacher was eliminated during the semi-finals of the show even though he received praise from the judges for his rendition of Michael Jackson's `Man In The Mirror'.
Danyl told Digital Spy: "It was so spontaneous.
"When I went in there, I was given the choice of three songs to sing and then the judges said that they would like to hear that song.
"I just thought - I have been here for ten and a half hours. I am last. Let's just have some fun!"
He added: "Looking back I'm not sure how I did it. I have to think about it so much when I redo that performance and not dropping the mic is the big thing.
"I'm sure there will be a story in the future about how I've broken a hundred mics doing that move."
Johnson has revealed that he would like to record an album "as soon as possible".
He said: "I want to have a record out there - that is my dream.
"I want to go into the studio, work with some great producers and make a good album."
