Notorious X Factor twins John and Edward arrived in Glasgow last night for a special performance - with a long queue of super-fans waiting to greet their arrival. The pair showed up at Sauchiehall Street venue Campus to show the Scots what all the fuss was about, wowing a packed crowd with some of the cheese-tastic covers that they had stunned a nationwide audience with.
The 18-year-old Grimes twins wowed their fans with a colourful performance as they bounded all over the stage, using enthusiasm to make up for any perceived lack of actual talent.
And their energy was appreciated by the fair few followers waiting outside that we talked to beforehand, all ready to pledge their devotion to the duo.
Indeed, one even had her own “Jedward” tattoo on her wrist, though had yet to tell her family - so watch out dad!
When asked why she’d been inked with the pair’s combined nickname, she explained: “It’s because I love them, I’d do anything for them. I’m the ultimate fanatic fan, it’ll be there forever and ever, like my love for them!”
Most of those in attendance tried to claim that the pair can actually sing - though at least one or two admitted the opposite was true, but they provide “a good laugh”.
And which song were people most looking forward to? Apparently their take on Queen’s Under Pressure - and no, that song wasn’t actually by Vanilla Ice, despite what one fan thought...
John and Edward became known around the world for their shambolic performances on The X Factor, ruining numbers such as Britney Spears’ Oops I Did It Again and the Ghostbusters theme in the process.
Campus marketing and entertainment manager Cameron Craig commented beforehand about Jedward’s appearance: “I've worked with a lot of big stars but none of them have come anywhere close to this.
“In terms of The X Factor, we've had JLS four times and we thought they were big. It was like Beatlemania with those boys - really insane, scarily so.
“But that is completely overshadowed by John and Edward. This is a whole new level - it has gone up several gears.”
