Former X Factor contestant Rhydian Roberts says that he thinks Dannii Minogue is “the best judge by a long mile” on this year’s series of the show.
Rhydian, who was mentored by Dannii in the 2007 series - in which he was runner-up to Scots act Leon Jackson - believes the Aussie judge puts a huge amount of effort into helping her acts.
Speaking to Digital Spy, he said: I'm very fond of Dannii, I'm so proud of her this year, she's coming across so well. She's the best judge by a long mile this year.
"I think she looks fantastic and the effort she puts in every week really pays off. She's a really classy chick and has always been supportive."
The news will be a big boost to Dannii, who was largely overshadowed by the arrival of Cheryl Cole on the judging panel last year.
Rhydian has enjoyed huge success since leaving The X Factor, with his self-titled debut album selling more than 600,000 copies and going double platinum, making him the biggest selling solo male artist of 2008. His new album, O Fortuna, is being released on Monday, November 30.
