'Danyl was feeling the pressure' says Jamie Archer

X Factor star Jamie `Afro' Archer has said that he sympathised with Danyl Johnson over his row with Simon Cowell. Archer said that he had spoken with Johnson after he apparently "stormed out" of rehearsals for this week's live show.

Danyl was said to be "furious" with his mentor's choice of the George Michael song `Praying For Time'.

Jamie told the Daily Mirror that he had talked to Danyl about the incident.

He explained: "I spoke to Danyl on my way down here and had a nice long chat with him to see how things were going.

"He told me about how he went to Simon's office. It's very high pressure, I don't think anyone can ever understand what it's truly like to be in that house.

"It's the same thing for me and the same thing for Dan. People will flair up from time to time.

"It is natural to be like `oh my god' I need some time to myself."

Archer confessed that he was "annoyed" with Cowell on numerous occassions after disagreements over song choice.

Jamie said: "It's the same thing that happened to me when you have a really strong idea of what you want to do and it doesn't match what the X Factor think is right. I was annoyed.

"I've broken out of the house a couple of times because I just had to clear my head.

"It can be very frustrating."
