Rachel Adedeji has revealed that she doesn’t blame Simon Cowell for failing to use his vote to save her on Sunday’s results show.
The 18-year-old singer was in the sing-off with Welsh cutie Lloyd Daniels, and after Dannii and Louis chose to save Rachel, and Cheryl chose to save her contestant Lloyd, Simon had the deciding vote.
He chose to save Lloyd in order to send the vote to deadlock to let the public decide - claiming he was finding making a decision difficult, despite the fact he admitted Rachel sang better.
As a result, Rachel was knocked out of the competition – but she doesn’t hold a grudge against Simon. Speaking to stv.tv she said: She said: “I think he (Simon) did (the right thing).
“It wasn’t Lloyd’s fault that he had a sort throat, we’ve all been through so much. We’re all individual, we’re all good in our own ways. I just hope he (Lloyd) rests up and gets better soon.”
Rachel – who was in Dannii’s Girls group – had been in the sing-off twice before, with Scots singer Rikki Loney and girl group Kandy Rain.
She admitted that it was tough being in the bottom two, and being put out of X Factor - but that she won’t let that knock her confidence.
She said: “It was horrible because I tired so hard week after week to stay in the competition, but it happens, it has to happen to everyone.
She added: “It’s not the end for me. I’m taking away everything that I learned from the competition.”
Rachel has tipped Stacey, Joe, Jamie, Olly or John and Edward to win the show – but admitted she’d love it if her best friend in the house, Joe McElderry picked up the X Factor crown.
The remaining eight contestants will perform on this weekend’s Songs of the Movies themed shows, which will be shown on STV at 8pm on Saturday and Sunday.
