Diana Vickers is unlikely to record a duo album with Eoghan Quigg despite both young stars signing to the same record label.
Internet forums have been rife with speculation that the two X Factor sweethearts would record a joint album after it was announced that Diana has signed a recording contract with RCA.
Insiders have said that the label has got "high hopes" for the 17-year-old singer and suggested that it is unlikely that she would record an album of duets with Eoghan.
A source told the Star: "At one stage Simon (Cowell) was convinced she was going to win the show.
"Then she suffered a backlash after falling sick and rumours begun about her dating Eoghan behind her boyfriend Chris' back.
"She is going to get time to develop as an artist and will bounce back with her fantastic voice."
It is believed that Diana's debut album will not just consist of pop hit covers and sources have said that they are searching to find suitable material which will catapult her to stardom.
The source added: "With the right songs she could sell a lot of records.
"The plan is to find those tracks and give her the best shot at following Alexandra into the big time."
