X Factor creative director may quit to join Strictly Come Dancing

X Factor creative director Brian Friedman may be leaving the show to defect to the BBC.

The 31-year-old choreographer has reportedly been linked to a judge's role on Strictly Come Dancing, according to a report in the Star.

Friedman is apparently in the early stage of negotiations to join the judging panel on the BBC dance show.

An inside source revealed:"Brian would love to be on Strictly.

Brian ended the last series of The X Factor in a row with show bosses over money.

A friend of the choreographer has previously said that Brian felt as if he was being taken advantage of and was due a substantial pay rise to return to the show in 2009.

The source said: "Brian's been working extremely hard...He's taken on a huge role, not just in teaching and mentoring, but also in attracting big name US stars.

"Brian's well-connected in America so it's thanks to him that Britney even considered performing.

"He just doesn't feel like his efforts are being recognised."

Former X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne, Simon Cowell's brother Tony, the Chuckle Brothers and comic Johnny Vegas are rumoured to be among possible contestants being lined up for this year's Strictly Come Dancing.
