Diana Vickers has laughed off her recent on-stage attack by an over-enthusiastic fan.
The X Factor contestant was giving a performance at The Chapel nightclub in Salisbury, on Friday 9 January, when a man from the audience rushed onto the stage.
Tabloid newspapers have alleged the man "mauled" the 17-year-old singer and tried to put his arm around her.
Security staff at the venue quickly came to her aid but Diana got caught up in the skirmish.
However, after a short break to regain her composure she returned to complete her set.
Diana now claims the incident has been blown up out of all proportion.
She told the Accrington Observer: "He was just having a good time, I think he had been drinking and he climbed on stage.
"He didn't try to put his arm around me or anything. He was harmless. Before I knew it security were on stage and taking me off.
"I was a bit shaken up but I laughed about it later."
Diana, who has been performing all over the country since her elimination at the semi-final stage of the contest, is currently preparing for the X Factor Live Tour which begins in February.
She said: "The tour is coming up soon and I am looking forward to that.
"Beyond that I am just waiting at this point. Hopefully something will happen, fingers crossed."
