As the rain fell thick and fast, rising stars Chapel Club took a pew, played an exclusive acoustic and spoke to STV about the pains of being compared to Joy Division.

STV had the pleasure of catching up with brooding new band Chapel Club before their set on the Red Bull Bedroom Jam Futures Stage later today.

The boys who were signed 5 months ago after only a handful of shows have a full Summer planned, playing festivals across Europe before embarking on the NME Emerge tour in September.

T In The Park: Chapel Club Bless Us With Their Presence

With a dark, epic, atmospheric sounds Chapel Club showed their exasperation at being compared to obvious contemporaries White Lies and Editors, alongside influential greats Joy Division, suggesting we make our own mind up on their sound as they struggled to encapsulate their broad soundscape into a few words.

The band then played an acoustic version of ‘All The Eastern Girls’, a track brimming with overwhelming sentiment, expansive yet delicate showing the maturation and thought behind their songs.

Modest and meaningful, this is simply a brief introduction to a band who have much more to come.
