The stv.tv team boldly went where few other reporters have gone before – into the mud pit that is the T in the Park campsite. What a sight it was to behold...
Clearly nothing can dampen the spirits of T in the Park campers and many embraced the torrential showers by sitting outside their tents enjoying the odd refreshment or two, just as they would have done if the sun was splitting the skies.
Two pink ladies told us the rain wouldn’t put them off T. The girls joked: “We’re pretending we’re in the tropics and we’re just going to get on with it.”
We spotted two other young ladies cautiously walking along the muddy footpath amongst the tents, who looked suspiciously glam to have been slumming it in the rain.
They revealed: “We’ve just been down to the Refresh tent. It’s our complete saviour this weekend it’s totally fabulous.
“You can pay for unlimited access and you can go and straighten your hair and dry your hair and jackets. We spent hours drying ourselves cause we were soaking!”
Good tip girlies – we’ll be keeping that one for later.
Clearly embracing the Fancy Dress Friday theme at T, we then encountered a bunch of bananas.
Was the rain bothering this fruity bunch? One banana claimed: “We love the rain, helps us grow!” And their top tip for the weekend? “Go bananas.” Oh dear...
In true T style, just as the gate opened, the sun emerged and the magic and madness of T in the Park commenced. It’s going to be a fantastic weekend, come rain or shine.
