T in the Park is set to offer a variety new entertainment zones especially for campers to enjoy at the festival this year.
The T in the Park campsite is ready to rock 65,000 of the world’s best music fans again from Thursday July 9 to Sunday July 12, and there are three entertainment zones for campers to enjoy.
Boom Town is the home of the Cabaret Voltaire Boombus. Manned by DJ talent courtesy of the famous Edinburgh venue, hitting the decks on the bus will be representatives from an array of the club's regular nights serving up everything from house to hip hop, killer kitsch classics to proper old-school rave.
The converted double-decker, kitted out with a pounding sound system, will transform Boom Town into an al fresco club from 6pm to 2am on Thursday and 10pm to 2am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Boom Town is also home to the Healthy T Campsite shop which will be selling a range of fresh salads and pasta bowls – a new initiative for 2009, bringing the best of Healthy T into the campsite.
The Red Bull Lock In area will be in full effect with some special guest DJ action pumping out tunes from the Red Bull restored 1950's Swedish military vehicle, the Volvo Sugga, from 10pm to 2am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The Sunset Strip in the campsite houses the Silent Disco and the new A-Listed Indie Disco. Silent Disco returns to Balado this year, so revellers can don a pair of wireless headphones and boogie on down while not a peep is heard from outside the tent... well, at least until everyone starts singing along.
The area will host a Fancy Dress Friday Silent Disco - before the bands kick off in the Main Arena on Friday 10th July, festival goers can hit the dancefloor from 2pm to 5pm in their fancy dress finery. A photographer will be on hand to snap the most creatively attired music lovers for The T Lady, who will then reward the best fancy dress costume with tickets for T in the Park 2010.
Once festival goers hear the last strum of a guitar in the Main Arena they can head to the A-Listed Indie Disco in the Sunset Strip where PMcQ of Muck, Village Disco, Gurney, Pinup Nights and Hands In The Air will be dropping the best in indie anthems, electro mash ups and “dare you not to dance” classics from 6pm to midnight on Thursday, 6pm to 2am on Friday and 10pm to 2am on Saturday and Sunday.
As well as the after-hours musical offerings, the Thursday night campsite cinema screen returns. Organisers have asked festival goers to vote for the films they'd like to see through our website with the choices to be announced online soon.
