After fronting Bloc party for the past 7 years, front man, Kele Okereke has stepped out on his own, creating The Boxer: a darker, electronic departure from Bloc Party, although almost a natural progression from singles Flux, Mercury and One More Chance.
Taking to a tent rather than the expansive stages he’s become accustomed to, Kele told stv.tv how he is enjoying the smaller venues and getting close to the fans again.
During our conversation Kele divulged what he’s been listening to when creating the album, which in it’s entirety is a fairly diverse work.
Creating the record on his own, Kele explains he then had the problem of translating this into a viable live set.
Introducing his backing band, he is joined onstage by a drummer, keyboard player and a master of all things electronic.
Promising a sweaty time, there was no way stv.tv could resist the live show later on that day.
