The Noisettes played T in the Park yesterday, but their dream festival would involve a heavenly collaboration between Michael Jackson and Mozart.
The three-piece rocked the King Tut’s Wah Wah Tent on Saturday afternoon, playing an energetic show that included hit single Don’t Upset the Rhythm.
There was even a moment of concern when singer Shingai Shoniwa climbed perilously up the lighting truss at the front and looked close to falling off, hanging by her legs, but thankfully for all concerned she got down safely and continued a superb set.
We caught up with guitarist Dan Smith and asked him who would be in the line-up for his dream festival.
“I’d say like the Jimi Hendrix experience, Santana, we’re delving back into the past,” he said. “Muddy Waters, Michael Jackson would be amazing, Prince, James Brown, you can go crazy! Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, there’s millions of them. Mozart, come on, Beethoven, yeah!”
“Mozart and Michael Jackson would be… Mozart playing the piano backwards, hands behind his head like he does in the film, which isn’t him, that would be amazing.”
