With the rain starting to lash down, festival goers start taking shelter under the lid of the dome-like BBC Introducing Stage where they're in for a fine treat with Findo Gask opening proceedings.

Singer Gerard Black has gone for a fetching purple polo shirt/orange cardigan combination, and sounds for all the world like Morrissey caught moonlighting at choir practise, back when he a prodigiously talented schoolboy.

It's a more cerebral start to the Sunday than many hungover festival goers might be able to handle, but the Glaswegian electro-indie outfit merit the hype surrounding them with a taut, impressive set.

Drummer Michael Marshall provides insistent juttering rhythms as the other three hunch over their electronic implements, though the multi-talented tubthumper switches to guitar for beguiling B-side Nubo, which comes along complete with carefully orchestrated vocal harmonies. They may be a new band, but they've already got their sound down to a T (see what I did there?).

They finish with first single Va Va Va, which starts off in a sensitive indie style before becoming something of a dancefloor stomper – well, if there was a dancefloor rather than some soggy grass to traipse upon.

The band finish, promising to be seen in attendance at the Pet Shop Boys. As it is, Findo Gask are the sort of band you'd fully expect to see further up the bill next year, one that makes you remember why you brave the slightly damp weather. Bright skies lie ahead, it seems...
