Beth Tweddle's performance on 'Dancing on Ice' tonight (20.01.13) is in doubt because she is suffering from a stomach bug.
The Olympic gymnast was taken to hospital yesterday (19.01.13) with suspected appendicitis but doctors diagnosed her with gastroenteritis, meaning she had to pull out of training and has been placed in quarantine with professional partner Dan Whiston.
Show bosses will reassess the situation this morning, but if Beth can't skate, it will cause problems for fellow skater Oona King, who, along with professional Mark Hanretty, is due to face the pair ina head-to-head challenge on tonight's programme.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: ''It's 50/50 if Beth will be able to perform tonight.
''She spent last night resting and the team will review the situation.
''If she can't skate, it will also be bad news for Oona King, who is meant to be facing her in a duel. Not having Beth there could really throw her.
''Two of the producers have also just been sent home suffering from severe gastroenteritis, so everyone on the show is worried they could be next.''
However, despite her illness, Beth is said to be determined to take to the ice.
The source added: ''Falling ill this week has been a huge blow but she is determined to come back stronger. As an athlete she is used to setbacks.
''As long as she is well enough, she will be back in training and giving the competition her all.''
