Robert Pattinson rang the bell to open the New York Stock Exchange on Tuesday.
The actor was in the city for the premier of his new film Cosmopolis and sounded the bell to signify the start of the day's trading.
He was joined by David Cronenberg, the film's director, to help promote the film.
The movie is based on the 2003 novel by Don DeLillo and also stars Samantha Morton and Juliette Binoche.
Speaking about his new film, Pattinson said: "I don't think you can give away the plot, I think it's impossible, trying to explain what the movie's about is physically impossible.
"It's a very kind of eccentric [film], it's one of the only things I'll ever do where I can say, 'I don't think this will ever be made again', or, 'It hasn't been made before'. Regardless of how people see it, at least it's something new."
Last month, Robert's girlfriend Kristen Stewart admitted she had cheated on him with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.
Discussing Rob's personal life, Cornenbery told E! Online: "That kind of stuff is none of my business.
"I direct him on the set, I don't direct him in his real life."
