Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are hotly tipped to marry this weekend in a romantic ceremony at their idyllic south of France chateau.
The Hollywood super couple – aka Brangelina – are said to be throwing Brad’s parents Bill and Jane a 50th anniversary bash.
But locals apparently think the lavish party is simply a front and in fact the celebration will see the couple marry, with those staying near the couple’s Chateau Miraval home saying there is a real “buzz” about the place.
A source told The Sun: “Brad flew in to oversee preparations but they’re all here now. They say it’s for Jane and Bill, but some think this could be it. Even Angelina’s private jeweller is here.”
The pair are said to be planning an intimate ceremony with around just 20 guests. But Brad’s best friend, movie hunk George Clooney, is believed to be one of the lucky few who has received an invitation to the nuptials.
“George and Brad are best pals, there’s no way he’d miss it,” the paper’s source said.
“He’s at his house in Italy, but could fly to Marseille in an hour.” The insider added: “There’s a real buzz around the estate.”
Kate Middleton and Prince William – aka the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – had also been rumoured to be in the running to land an invitation to the biggest showbiz wedding of the summer, but that looks unlikely if they are planning such a small party.
The couple have been dating for the last seven years after meeting on the set of Mr & Mrs Smith in 2005, where they played assassins who fall in love and marry, completely unaware of each other’s secret life.
Brad and Ange have six children together – three adopted and three biological, called Maddox, Zahara, Pax, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne.
And in April this year they announced they had become engaged, after Angelina was spotted wearing a massive diamond sparkler on her wedding ring finger.
A spokesperson for the couple confirmed the happy news in a statement, which said: "Yes, it's confirmed. It is a promise for the future and their kids are very happy. There's no date set at this time."
Romantic Brad popped the question with the diamond sparkler, which he helped luxury jewellewr Procop design.
A Procop representative told the Hollywood Reporter: "Brad had a specific vision for this ring, which he realised over a yearlong collaboration."
The rep added: "He wanted every aspect of it to be perfect, so I was able to locate a diamond of the finest quality and cut it to an exact custom size and shape to suite Angelina's hand.”
Speculation has been rife about where and when the couple will tie the knot, ever since the engagement news broke.
They had been rumoured to be planning to get hitched in New Orleans, a place they fell in love with after visiting in the aftermath of the 2005 Hurricane Katrina devastation.
Much of the money from Brad’s Make It Right foundation has gone towards helping rebuild the Louisiana city, and the couple were said to be acutely aware that holding their wedding there would bring another huge cash injection to the area.
The pair had also been rumoured to wed in the UK, with Ange and Brad living in the UK while both shoot upcoming movies.
