Amy Winehouse’s ex-husband is in a coma and is fighting for his life in hospital, after allegedly taking a cocktail of drink and drugs.
Blake Fielder-Civl, 30, whom the late singer was married to from 2007 until 2009, suffered multiple organ failure after the reported binge, and is currently on a life support machine.
The recovering drug addict was found choking in his bed by current partner and mother of his child Jack, Sarah Aspin, whom he met three years ago whilst in rehab.
Blake was rushed into hospital in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, where he is said to be critically ill.
Sarah told The Sun: “The doctors say they don’t know the prognosis. They said they put him in a coma to help him and due to infection.
"I'm praying he'll survive, but I'm having to prepare myself that he may never wake up."
According to the paper, Blake had been boozing with a pal after meeting probation officials, following a spell in prison for burglary and possession of an imitation firearm.
He returned home “slurring his words” and Sarah helped put him to bed. But at 6am the next morning, she was left horrified as she found Blake lying in bed “completely grey” and choking on his own vomit.
Sarah said: “I called the paramedics who were there within two minutes.
“They said he had swallowed his tongue and choked on his vomit. They were putting a tube in his throat and pumping oxygen into his mouth. I was terrified.
“At the hospital I realised they were frantically working on him, trying to keep him alive. They said his left lung was not working and they were trying to clear it.
“They let me in to hold his hand after 45 minutes. I found out later that they did that because they thought he was going to die.”
Blake was still critically ill in hospital last night and medics have warned Sarah that they cannot rule out the possibility of permanent brain damage.
Today Amy Winehouse’s father Mitch has asked people to pray for Blake to pull through. Writing on Twitter, he said: “Terrible news about Blake this morning. Remember Amy loved him. Let's pray for his recovery. Mitch.”

Amy and Blake had a notoriously tempestuous relationship and were often pictured arguing or looking disorientated. Fears for the couple emerged in the summer of 2007 when they were pictured walking together with scratches and cuts over their faces and bodies.
Many blame Blake for getting Amy hooked on drugs and think he caused her eventual downfall.
The 27-year-old R&B/soul singer died in July 2011 from alcohol poisoning after embarking on a booze binge. Her death came as a huge shock to the singer’s family, as she had been “dry” for several weeks as she battled to kick her booze habit.
