Britain’s Got Talent 2010 winners Spelbound are gearing up for one of the biggest shows of their life – performing at the 2012 Olympic Games.
The gymnastics squad dazzled and delighted audiences when they showed off their acrobatic skills during the 2010 series of the talent show, beating the likes of dog duo Tina and Chandi and dance act Twist and Pulse, with millions of viewers tuning in to see them secure their victory.
And they will be showing off their talents once again when they perform at Wembley Arena in August, during the rhythmic gymnastics competition.
Spelbound head coach Neil Griffiths said it is a huge honour to be selected to perform during the Games.
“Being chosen to perform at the Olympics is something special, a life-changing moment.
“When we got the call to say we could be involved all our dreams had come true, we were just so happy. It is the most unbelievable feeling to be part of something so amazing.”
Audiences can expect to see an array of exciting stunts, including “huge” throws, catches and gravity-defying acrobatic moves.
And while Spelbound will thrill audiences during the rhythmic gymnastics, it’s been announced fellow reality TV finalists One Direction will also delight audiences at the London 2012 Games.
The five-piece, who placed third in the 2010 series of X Factor, will take to the stage at the closing ceremony for the Olympics.
There had been rumours the 1D lads would be involved in the opening ceremony, leaving some disappointed on Friday night when they made no appearance during the spectacular.
But it looks like the boys will get their moment of Olympic glory in two weeks’ time. Other acts rumoured to be performing include the Spice Girls, The Who and Take That.
