Louis Tomlinson set to cheer on Olympic star Tom Daley

Fresh from partying at Marvin and Rochelle’s star-studded wedding on Friday night, the One Direction lads have been getting caught up in Olympic fever, with Louis Tomlinson looking forward to cheering on diver Tom Daley today.

Tom, along with diving partner Pete Waterfield, will bid to continue the British medal success this afternoon, as they compete in the synchronised 10m platform final.

1D heartthrob Louis watched the recent documentary about Tom’s journey to the Olympics and he was extremely moved by the 18-year-old’s courage and drive, after losing his father to cancer last year.

Louis Tweeted: “Sat watching @tomdaley1994 's doc on BBC. Very moving, seems a great guy!”

As Tom (who could give the 1D boys a run for their money in the heartthrob department) gets set for one of the biggest days of his life, he Tweeted: “After the toughest year of my life, today is the day! I just want to thank everyone for all their support no matter what the outcome x” Good luck Tom!

Zayn Malik has also been enjoying the Games coverage, telling fans: “Thought the Olympic opening ceremony yesterday was amazing, what do you guys think? X”

He later added: “Afternoon every1, watching Olympic canoeing, pretty cool :) x[sic]”

Liam Payne wrote: “Olympic timeeee , excitteeeedddd.[sic]”

Niall Horan was perhaps the most enthusiastic of all, as he gushed about the Games and his own desire to take part – Niall in lycra? Now that would be worth watching.

The 18-year-old Irish star said: “Dont know if its just me, but the excitement in london is unbelievable! Its gona be a great games.[sic]”

He then added: “Do they have an egg and spoon race in the olympics! I wana try! Always did well at sports day![sic’]”

Niall was also keen to show his support to the Irish competitors taking part in London 2012.

“All the irish athletes competing at #london2012 , good luck to all of u! As usual you're country is standing right behind you![sic]”

And hinting at the possibility of free tickets, he Tweeted: “whats with all the empty seats at the olympics..if they wan a give any tickets away ..i'll have them hahaha![sic]”

Harry Styles hasn’t been quite as enthusiastic about the sporting event, as, like many Londoners, he has been stuck in traffic thanks to the Olympic driving lanes.

He Tweeted “Grr” with a picture of the offending lane. Come on Harry, it’s time to get cheering on Team GB. If nothing else, there’s always the beach volleyball which is sure to get you in the spirit...
