Tom Cruise and his beloved daughter Suri have been reunited for the first time since the Hollywood star split from Katie Holmes.
The 50-year-old looked overjoyed as he cuddled six-year-old Suri, who ran into her dad’s arms while clutching a stuffed toy.
Tom is thought to have been so desperate to see his daughter that he left California where he had just finished shooting scenes for upcoming blockbuster Oblivion and flew overnight to New York.
It’s the first time they have been seen together in a month, with the pair last spotted spending time with one another in Iceland, where Tom was also working on scenes for the flick.
And Mission Impossible star Tom made sure to make the most of the time with his daughter, with the pair looking delighted to see each other once again.
But one person who didn’t seem keen to see Tom was his estranged wife Katie, who apparently didn’t have any contact with the actor when he picked Suri up, according to celebrity website TMZ.
Tom’s visit comes just one day after Suri and her mother were involved in a minor crash in New York, when a sanitation truck is believed to have backed into their chauffeur driven Mercedes. Luckily nobody was hurt in the collision.
Tom and Katie, 33, split after five-and-a-half years of marriage, amidst rumours that the Batman Begins actress was unhappy with her husband’s plans to raise their daughter in the strict scientology religion.
Katie filed for divorce just over two weeks ago and last week it was announced they have already reached a settlement.
Although the exact details of the divorce settlement are being kept private, it is believed Katie has been granted primary custody of Suri, while Tom is thought to be holding onto the majority of his reported £230 million wealth, in line with the prenuptial agreement signed before the couple wed in 2006.
