The Ciao Bella fashion arena is returning to Belladrum 2012, after wowing the crowds with a host of exclusive runway shows at Scotland’s most beautiful festival last year.
And the search is once again on to find the Face of Bella, giving one lucky boy and girl the chance to win a money-can’t-buy prize.
The Scottish Style Awards, organisers of Ciao Bella - Scotland’s only dedicated festival fashion arena, is calling for all aspiring male and female models to enter - and it couldn’t be easier.
Simply pop along to the Eastgate Centre, Inverness, between 12 and 4pm this Saturday, July 14, where talent scouts from top model agency Colours will be staging an open casting.
Can’t make it to Inverness? Online entries are now being accepted via a dedicated Face of Bella website. For a chance of winning simply upload one head shot and one full length photo and enter your vital stats! Female entrants must be a minimum of 5’ 7 and size 8-12 whilst male entrants should be a minimum of 5’ 10”, chest 38-42.
The competition closes on Wednesday 25 July, with the shortlisted catwalk stars-in-waiting chosen by a judging panel including Mary McGowne – Founder, Scottish Style Awards, Alison Bruce and Rosalynd Ramage – Directors, Colours Agency and Jackie Cuddy - Eastgate Centre Manager.
Shortlisted models will then take part in the Ciao Bella Grand Finale at Belladrum on the Saturday, where the two fabulous winners will be revealed, before they strut their stuff on the catwalk.
The winners will receive a money can’t buy prize of a professional modelling contract with top UK agency Colours, runway experience with the biggest names in fashion at a Scottish Style Awards show, a new season wardrobe from the Eastgate Centre and a pair of tickets to the award winning Belladrum tartan Heart Festival 2013.
Organiser and style queen Mary McGowne said: “This is an unmissable opportunity for aspiring male and female models to fast track themselves to a professional career. Last year we had hundreds of entries with Caitlin Rose Stroud of Inverness and Ibrahim Karim of Muir of Ord winning and we are expecting a huge response again. What’s more, the Open Model Casting at Eastgate on Saturday 14 July presents a unique chance to meet the top talent scouts from Colours and get some useful insider tips for the top.”
Jackie Cuddy, Eastgate Centre’s Manager, added: “This is a phenomenal opportunity. As headline sponsor of Ciao Bella, we are thrilled to be hosting the open model casting and urge all potential models to get their glad rags on and make their way to the Centre. Who knows, through this fantastic competition we might discover the next Kate Moss or David Gandy.”
Alison Bruce and Rosalynd Ramage, Directors, Colours Agency, commented: “Colours is proud to have discovered Scotland’s most promising model talent many of whom have then gone on to carve out hugely successful international careers. We can’t wait to arrive in The Eastgate Centre on Saturday 14 July for the Face of Bella open casting and would strongly encourage all aspiring models (male and female) to come along. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity.”
And Ciao Bella host, STV’s Laura Boyd, said: “The Ciao Bella arena at Belladrum last year was a joy to be a part of as the audience loved the mixture of high street and designer clothes and the chance to see some of Scotland’s top models take to the runway at Bella. The men in kilts were a particular highlight! The arena was packed when the Face of Bella finalists took to the stage and the atmosphere was electric as everyone got behind their favourites. I can’t wait to see who makes the final this year.”
The Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival takes place on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 August.
