Amy Winehouse’s former boyfriend Reg Traviss has been charged with two counts of rape.
The 35-year-old film director was arrested on April 5 following allegations made against him on January 18.
Crown Prosecution Service lawyer Rebecca Mundy confirmed in a statement: “I have authorised the Metropolitan Police to charge Reginald Traviss with two counts of rape.
“The alleged offences took place between December 29, 2011 and January 1, 2012. The decision was taken in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors.”
Reg and Amy had been in a relationship for more than a year when Amy passed away at her Camden home last July. The pair had been planning to get married.
Reg will appear at Westminster Magistrates’s Court on July 17.
