Jedward-mania is set to take over Scotland this summer, after the troublesome twosome confirmed they are to perform at this year’s Glasgow Show..
Organisers are expecting a rush for tickets after the singing duo, who made their name on X Factor, announced their return after wowing at last year’s summer show.
And the boys revealed they can’t wait to dazzle the crowds in Scotland once again.
They said: “We are so excited about coming back to Glasgow Green for this amazing concert. Last year thousands of people rocked out with us in the sunshine and this year we are gonna make it bigger and better. It's gonna be Jepic!"
Lord Provost Sadie Docherty added: “The organising team has worked wonders to bring Jedward back for a second year. There has been an unprecedented demand for their return, so I’m over the moon that we have brought them back and continue to deliver such an enjoyable, and value for money, event to the people of Glasgow.”
Taking place from July 21-22, other acts joining the line-up include newly reunited pop group S Club, former Britain’s Got Talent performers Stavros Flatley, and X Factor finalist Marcus Collins.
BGT vocal group The Mend and former STV presenter Michelle McManus will also entertain the masses.
The Glasgow Show 2012 is promising a number of action-packed events and activities in addition to the performances, including sets from top motorcycle display team Bolddog Ling, hire wire extraordinaire Jean Monti, Black Knights Parachute Display Team and the Tournament of Jousting Horseshow.
The Glasgow Show Parade, featuring vintage buses, dancers, pipe bands and street theatre, is also set to be a big pull for crowds. The parade leaves George Square at 11.30am and its arrival marks the formal opening of the Glasgow Show at 12.00pm in Glasgow Green and will be led by the Lord Provost.
Tickets advance until 12 July online at www.glasgow.gov.uk/parks. Full details about the weekend event are available by visiting www.glasgow.gov.uk/parks.
