Kate Middleton treated her husband Prince William to an action-packed birthday boat ride, which saw the future King pulled behind a high-speed vessel in a massive rubber ring.

According to reports, Duchess Kate booked the special present for her fun-loving husband weeks ago, as a special treat for his big 3-0.

And as his birthday falls in June – June 21 to be specific – Kate was hoping that Wills would get good weather for the outdoor experience.

But the Royal Family, like the rest of us, are having to endure the uncharacteristically cold summer weather, with Wills faced to endure the chilly temperatures during the speedboat ride, which left him “soaked to the skin”.

According to the Telegraph, Kate, Prince Harry, and a small group of close friends “roared with laughter” as they watched William bounce about on the rubber ring as he tried to cling on for dear life.

The experience, which took place in Anglesey, near the couple’s North Wales rented cottage, is believed to be just one of several presents Kate got her husband of just over one year.

The Duchess was also said to have commissioned a jeweller to design a handcrafted timepiece for the Prince, as well as posing for artist Nicky Phillips, who was expected to capture Kate’s beauty in a special portrait to be given to William on his landmark birthday.

As well as his presents from Kate, William received another birthday boost – an inheritance of £10 million which had been left to him by his late mother, Princess Diana.

Meanwhile it looks like Kate and William’s North Wales boat trip could be one of the last experiences they enjoy in Anglesey, if rumours about the couple house-hunting in the Home Counties are true.

According to the Daily Mirror, Kate and Wills are keen to set down roots with their own luxury country pad, which would ideally be near their official residence in Kensington Palace in London, as well as close to the Duchess’s parents in Berkshire.
