One Direction star Harry Styles seems to have it all – money, fame, success and millions of adoring girls around the world - but the singer has been left feeling “upset” and confused after locals from his home town appeared to turn against him.

The 18-year-old singer has apparently found himself at the centre of a hurtful “hate campaign", with people from his home town of Holmes Chapel in Chesire taunting the star.

According to new! magazine, the teen has been left “shocked” after facing taunts and cruel comments from some of the people in the area.

Harry and the rest of the 1D boys have achieved huge success ever since competing in X Factor in 2010, and have become global stars – something which is thought to have rubbed some people up the wrong way.

Childhood friend Will Sweeney, 19, told the magazine that Harry has been left bewildered by the behaviour of the individuals.

“It really upsets Harry because he’s a sensitive guy,” Will said. “He doesn’t understand it either. People call him a d***head and refer to him as ‘that t***’.”

And it seems it’s not just in his hometown that Harry has been facing hurtful comments. Will continued: “More recently he’s had abuse on network sites and chat rooms.”

Poor Hazza is no doubt feeling a bit down about the backlash – something which ladies linked to the One Direction lads have been facing for some time.

TV presenter Caroline Flack, who dated Harry for a number of months last year, faced vile abuse from jealous fans who repeated flooded the star’s Twitter page with comments about her.

US model Emma Ostilly also reportedly shut down her Twitter page after receiving the same treatment, after rumours emerged that she and Harry had become an item.
