One Direction star Niall Horan’s sausage causes problems on tour

As the One Direction boys continue to take the US by storm with their headline tour, the lads are becoming increasingly homesick and have requested some good old British grub to see them through their gruelling schedule.

Back home, cups of tea and full English breakfasts would seem like simple requests, but across the pond, the band’s demands are proving difficult to fulfil.

It’s not that Harry, Liam, Zayn, Louis and Niall are being divas: far from it. They think they are being helpful by asking for simple, cheap goods, but, according to The Sun, promoters are really struggling to source the goods in the US.

Niall Horan is said to be extremely particular about his sausage and he is quoted as saying: “I want Irish sausages if I can get hold of them as they are the best in the world. I love an English breakfast tea with three sugars before a show, too.”

Liam Payne is also a big tea drinker and he prefers a Yorkshire brew to any fancy American cuppas.

At the weekend, Louis Tomlinson Tweeted: “Miss you all back home,” while Niall was gutted to miss last night’s Ireland football game.

He wrote: “ragin! missed the ireland game.. coz i was too busy being a lazy fool and sleeping!” They lost to 2-0 to Italy so he was probably better off asleep...

The boys are set to return to the UK in spectacular style, as they are tipped to perform in front of over one billion people during the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics.

Sources told the Daily Star Sunday that the X Factor boyband will perform their smash hit What Makes You Beautiful at the spectacular event.

A source is quoted as saying: "The main theme of the Olympic closing ceremony will be celebrating the best of British music, so it's only right that One Direction are opening the show.

"They are the UK's biggest music ­export at the moment behind Adele, who is also ­rumoured to be involved in some way.

"It's all top secret and the boys aren't allowed to talk about it but they are thrilled."
