Kate Middleton is busy planning the birthday celebration of a lifetime for her beloved husband, Prince William, who celebrates his 30th on June 21.
The Duchess of Cambridge, who turned 30 herself in January this year, is said to be extremely keen to make sure Wills has a day to remember, and is said to be working on creating a “private and special” bash for him and his friends.
This soiree is set to be staged at either Highgrove House in Gloucestershire or in London at Kensington Palace, Now magazine reports.
And Kate is even thought to have enlisted the help of the prince’s close friend, nightclub owner Guy Pelly, to help recreate a club setting at one of the royal residences.
A few years ago the royal couple were regulars at night spots including the prestigious Boujis and Whisky Mist.
But now they are so high profile it’s no wonder Kate has decided to plan a more private celebration, away from the prying eyes of the media and the public, which will allow the Royals and other guests to really let their hair down and relax.
Kate is also said to have been working on a very special present for her husband’s big day. And you can forget impersonal, glitzy pressies – the Duchess has something much more personal in mind.
Kate, now officially know as Catherine, is thought to be keen to draw on the happy times they’ve spent together, during their eight-year courtship and one-year marriage – which has inspired her gift for William’s 30th.
“Firstly, she wants to make him a scrapbook of their life together,” a source told the magazine.
“It will include snaps of every holiday they've been on, memorabilia of special moments in their relationship and a heartfelt birthday message.”
And it doesn’t end there. The insider continued: “Not only that, she's also making him a mixtape - well, an iPod playlist - of songs that have special meaning to them.” How sweet!
Duchess Kate is also expected to present Wills with a very special painting of herself captured on canvas by the artist Nicky Philipps.
Sounds like Prince William’s 30th birthday is going to be an event fit for a King!
