The cream of the Scottish hair and beauty industry paid tribute to the late Vidal Sassoon at an awards bash last week.
Star guests including design duo Colin and Justin and fellow celebrity hairdresser Trevor Sorbie MBE took part in a standing ovation at the INAA Awards in Glasgow on May 27, remembering the industry legend, who made his name styling the hair of royalty and celebrities arond the world.
Sassoon passed away last month at his Los Angeles home, following a battle with leukaemia.
A host of hair and beauty professionals were also honoured at the glitzy bash, hosted at Glasgow’s Hilton hotel, with awards including Junior Stylist of the Year, Beauty Salon of the Year, Cosmetic Therapist of the Year, and Lifetime Achievement Award.
Joanne Reid, the managing director of INAA, said: “We are delighted to reward and recognise all the creative talent within the industry – Scottish Talent is second to none and INAA.com is privileged to be holding this event. “
Trevor Sorbie MBE, who hails originally from Paisley, said he was delighted to win the Lifetime Achievement gong.
He said: “I am so thrilled to receive the Lifetime Achievement award at the INAA Scottish Health and Beauty Awards.”
The celebrity stylist also spoke about his new venture, a charity called MyNewHair, which works with salons around the UK to provide wig styling for women who have suffered hair loss through illness or other conditions.
