Sir Elton John is back on the mend, recovering “incredibly well” after being hospitalised with a “serious” respiratory infection last week.

The Your Song singer was forced to cancel three Las Vegas concert dates after taking ill and being hospitalised in LA’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre.

At the time, reports stated that Elton was suffering from a “serious respiratory infection”.

But the Rocket Man star is now getting back to normal, with his partner, David Furnish, telling crowds at last night’s Glamour Women Of The Year Awards in London: "Thank you for your well wishes. He's doing incredibly well and recovering."

Sir Elton has a busy summer coming up, with prestigious events including a performance at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert this coming Monday (June 4).

A statement on the star’s official website confirmed that Elton will be singing at the highly anticipated event, and is “very excited” about it.

It read: “Elton is now back at his home in England and is feeling much better following his recent chest infection.

"He is looking forward to playing a series of concerts in the UK and Europe this summer and, of course he is very excited about playing at The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Concert at Buckingham Palace on Monday, June 4.”

Other stars lined-up for the concert include Sir Paul McCartney, Dame Shirley Bassey and pop princess Kylie Minogue.

Elton's tour comes to Scotland's Falkirk Stadium on June 10, when fans north of the border will get a chance to see the legendary performer in action.
