A royal baby. It’s the news we’ve all been waiting for, and it seems that starting a family is a topic that is very much on the minds of Kate and Wills, aka the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

During an uncharacteristically intimate interview with US TV station ABC, Prince William opened up to journalist Katie Couric, telling the presenter that starting a family with his stunning wife of just over a year, Kate Middleton, is top of his list of priorities.

The prince, who will turn 30 on June 21, said that he loves his job as a search and rescue pilot with the RAF, but admitted "the pressures of my other life are building", before adding: "More importantly, I'd like to have children.”

Wills continued: "I'm just very keen to have a family and both Catherine and I are looking forward to having a family in the future."

Wills wouldn’t reveal any details of when we can expect a royal baby though, admitting he was keeping “tight-lipped”. Booo!

It’s not the first time the royal couple have expressed a desire to have a child together. During their royal tour of Canada last June and July, Kate spoke of her hopes to be a mother one day.

After speaking to cute two-year old Raffaela Cheater at a military ceremony in Quebec City, the child’s father wished the Duchess of Cambridge well in her efforts to start a family of her own, to which Kate said: : “Yes, I hope to”.

Those four little words sparked off huge media interest in the possibility of an addition to the Royal Family, with everything from Kate’s refusal to eat peanut paste, to the Duchess placing one hand on her stomach, creating rumours that a baby may be on the way.

But it looks like when the couple are ready to take the next step in their lives together they’ll be keeping very much “tight-lipped” until they’re ready to announce it!
