Kate Middleton takes over from Pippa as tantastic icon

Many of us would love to look like Kate Middleton. Women around the globe head to the hairdressers armed with a picture of Kate at her finest, begging snippers to blow-dry their mops into that bouncy Duchess do.

We rush to Reiss, Topshop, Whistles etc. to copy the gorgeous high street gowns she flaunts effortlessly, while those who are about to walk up the aisle say ‘I do’ want that subtle, yet smoky, makeup she sported at the Royal Wedding.

But it seems there is no end to Kate’s style queen reign and the latest thing ladies are asking for at the salon is the ‘Middletan.’

Forget Jordan, Amy Childs and the rest of the tantalizing ladies who grace our screens looking a fine shade of orange; Kate’s gorgeous glow and light tan has become the most desired look for women looking to add a touch of colour before flashing the flesh in this warm summer weather.

According to the London Evening Standard, tan firm LDN:SKINS, which runs 1,000 booths across the UK, claims that 70 per cent of all female customers are now requesting a softer spray tan, to look like Kate.

The brand’s UK representative Lena White said: “For years, women have opted for level four, the Jordan-style dark tan, in the booths but, in the wake of Kate regularly showing off her shapely bronzed pins, level two is now the colour of choice."

She added: “More and more of our clients have told us they want to emulate the Duchess of Cambridge’s radiant skin tone and have requested the more subtle tan.”

Last year it was Kate’s younger sister, Pippa, who had women flocking to the beauty salon, in a bid to achieve the brilliantly bronzed look she showed off in THAT Sarah Burton bridesmaid dress at the Royal Wedding.

But it seems Kate’s more subtle look is now the preferred option, which is good news for us paler peeps.

Kate has also proved she’s all white in the smile department, after coming out top in a recent survey carried out by OnePoll for Nokia Lumia 900, finding the nation's favourite smlie.

And after Kate scored top place, the 30-year-old has been credited with boosting one particular type of teeth treatment, which has helped her to achieve the natural but striking grin.

The Duchess’s smile is believed to have been achieved by French dentist, Didier Fillion, who specialises in the “micro rotation” treatment, the Daily Mail reports.
