Gary Barlow v Peter Andre in Celebrity Dad of the Year battle

It’s one of the most coveted titles in the land – yes people; we’re talking about Premier Inn Celebrity Dad of the Year.

The famous faces who will battle it out in a bid to be crowned top of the pops 2012 have just been announced and what a fine array of fellas they are.

Peter Andre, who is the current holder of the title, is hoping to take the top spot for the third year in a row, but hot on his heels is X Factor judge Gary Barlow, whose wife is expecting their fourth child.

Clearly chuffed with his nomination, Gary Tweeted about the news and a fan responded: “Will this be the best award you've ever recieved if you win?”

He replied: “By far.”

When the Take That star announced his wife’s pregnancy earlier this year, he said Pete better “move aside.” Fighting talk!

But Pete will be keen to make it a hat trick as he sees being a dad to Princess and Junior, and maintaining a close bond with ex wife Katie Price’s son, Harvey, as the most important aspect of his life.

Collecting his award at the Premier Inn in Kensington last year, Pete said, “This means a huge amount to me as being a dad is my most important role.

“This feels so great. It was an honour to win last year but to still have the public’s support and best wishes is a tremendous feeling.”

TV Chef Jamie Oliver, who has four little darlings, is also featured, as is Wayne Rooney, Elton John and new-dad Jay-Z, not to mention Dappy and Ronaldo.
